Israel Katz on Iran

Israel Katz, in his capacity as Defense Minister, has articulated an aggressive stance toward the Iranian regime, viewing it as an existential threat due to its nuclear program and ballistic missile projects. He revealed that a decision to assassinate the late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was set by the Prime Minister in November 2025, with the operation being accelerated following widespread anti-regime protests in Iran starting in late December. Katz stated that the ultimate goal is to destroy the regime's ability to pose a threat, supporting the Iranian people's efforts to overthrow their government.

He further indicated that Israel seeks to crush the regime's capabilities, cooperating with American partners in this effort, and pledged that any new leader appointed by the current system to continue destructive plans would immediately become a target.
